GitHub integration

For communities on GitHub, use the Talkbase integration to sync your GitHub contributors and member activity.

You can connect Talkbase to your GitHub account to get valuable insights into your contributors' performance. The integration highlights the most active contributors who participate in codebase development, and issue tracking, and engage in discussions. It can also showcase the top issuers, that is, the users who report issues or suggest new ideas.

The integration also shows the most responsive contributors - those actively involved with improving the codebase and helping your community with the issues they face.

To setup your GitHub integration

  • You have to be the GitHub repository Owner. In case you are a Member, the Owner will receive an approval email. Once the repository owner approves the integration, reach out to us at hi@talkbase.io to help you finalize the integration.
  • Go to Integrations, scroll down to GitHub, and click on the Install button.
  • Follow the instructions by typing in your GitHub username or email address and password, then click Sign in.

Using the GitHub integration

Similarly to the other Talkbase integrations with community tools, after installing the GitHub integration, you'll be able to see contacts in your CRM and their source as GitHub. You'll also be able to go to Insights, select the GitHub integration, and view insights into community engagement and activity.
