Discourse integration

Connect Talkbase to Discourse to sync member activity.

You can connect your Gainsight account to synchronize data into Talkbase.

How to set up Discourse integration?

Make sure you have API Access enabled and your current Discourse subscription plan supports API Access.

In Talkbase, under the "Workspace" section in the navigation panel, click on "Settings" and then click on "Integrations".
Under "Community Integrations", find Discourse and click "Install"

Fill in these fields:
- Discourse API key — you'll find the or can create a new API key in your Discourse under Admin > API Keys > New API key.
  - Set User Level to All Users
  - Set Scope to Read-Only
  - Copy the generated API key and enter into Talkbase
- Discourse username — that's the username you use to sign in to Discourse
- Community URL — this is the base URL / link to your Discourse server. Don't forget to include the https:// prefix.
Click "Install"

Sync all discussions, comments, categories and topics to Talkbase

Here are the fields from Discourse that we currently capture:

profiles
- email address
- first name, last name
- username
- avatar
posts
replies
categories

With Talkbase you can get insights on the activity in your Discourse and active or inactive members.
